Experimental film covers a wide range of practice. An experimental film is often characterized by the absense of a clear and linear narrative, the use of abstract techniques- out of focus, painting or scratching on film, rapid editing- and the use of non-diegetic sound or even the absence of any soundtrack at all. The goal is often to place the viewer in a more active and more thoughtful relationship to the film.
Our idea is to place the viewer into the view point of somebody who is wandering. Either in a drunken state or in a lonely, vulnerable state. We want to use the bokeh effect to blur lights to give off a confused or disorientated mood. As well as speeding up traffic and capturing the movement they make. We also want to experiment using photography, creating some scenes entirely from pictures and stringing them together to show a journey of some sort. I would also like to experiment with incorporating art, is there a way to add sketches, scratching, colours?
